We have received a National Lottery Awards for All Grant and will be holding 2 collaborative events with Brighton and Hove Libraries and local communities for Refugee Week 2024.
Thursday 20th June, 17.30 - 18.30
Sudanese poetry and music from Bashir Al Gamar, plus readings and stories of journeys of people seeking sanctuary in Sussex. This event is in collaboration with Sussex Interpreting Services and the Library
Saturday 22nd June, 12.00 - 16.00
An afternoon of live music and poetry, including Kurdish singer, Suna Alan, Milad Yousofi from Afghanistan, plus a new Syrian Ukrainian fusion group from Brighton; Fol'klor Musiqaa a collaboration between well loved Syrian musicians Jamal and Alaa and Ukrainian folk and pop duo Dina and Polina.
The event will also include Ukrainian poetry reading from Vladyslava Bondar, with English translations from Naomi Foyle
