Maté Café: March 7th 2020

Food at todays Maté Café was cooked by Ahmed. A delicious fusion of Syrian, Iraqi and Persian influences, with okra cooked in a sauce of tomato, cardamon, turmeric, dried lime and chilli. Served with a side of rice with saffron, barberries and cinnamon and healthy salad.

There was also a new feature of face painting from Monica, art workshops from Refugee Radio and excellent music from a four musicians, singing an anti war, anti fascist song in four languages. The song originated in the Spanish Civil War. We'll post a full recording and interview with the group at a later date. Thanks to all who came and supported.
