Summer 2018, Refugee Week and more.

Summer 2018 has been our busiest since we started Best Foot Music, with artists playing all over the south east. Ranging from Refugee Week, festivals and private functions. There are individual pages for the larger ones such as Royal Festival Hall, and our own Flavours of Syria fundraising event. Every gig we are involved in is important to us, here are some of the highlights of Summer 2018.

Martin Searle 14 Years in Business. In aid of Refugee Support Europe.

Brighton based solicitors celebrated 14 years in business by holding a fundraising party. Jamal and Alaa were invited to play. It was a great event , with lots of people dancing to the music.

There was a community event at the Dome. Kourosh ran a music workshop, playing examples of music from across the Persian region with his Tar. He discussed how music can bring people together regardless of language or background.

An excellent event, and a great way to end the weekend. Held on Sunday 24th June, at the end of Refugee Week, in the beautiful grounds of Ashburnham Place, the event organised by Hastings Supports Refugees was well organised and really managed to create an enjoyable atmosphere, whilst still getting an important message across . The band were well supported and we sold quite a few records! The video below documents Hastings refugee befriending project.

Organised by Ruth Grove White, on behalf of the Lloyds Bank Foundation / Unbound Philanthropy refugee charity the evening included organisations from the area working with recently arrived refugee communities. There was an address by Alan Whitehead, MP for Southampton Test . Overall a really valuable and enjoyable event, in which people really appreciated the music. There were a few Sudanese people in the audience, who seemed especially pleased to hear some music from their country.
