Crawley International Mela Festival
Crawley International Mela Festival, ran for many years in the grounds of the Hawth Theatre, and was the biggest community lead festival in Sussex, celebrating the diversity of Crawley and the surrounding areas. We became involved in 2011, programming the first content from the recently arrived Eastern European communities, and later programming and managing the main stage, with global and local acts. The festival ran for the final time in its present format in 2015, with the volunteer team needing a rest. 2016 was a gap year for everyone involved, but we hope there will be a new similar event established in 2017.
